UM cherishes digital heritage

An interesting online event will take place on Wednesday 16 June about the future and safeguarding of digital heritage in our region. The event is linked to the signing by Vice-Chairman of the Executive Board Nick Bos of the manifesto of the Network Digital Heritage (NDE) on behalf of UM. In doing so, UM endorses the principles of the manifesto and the National Strategy for Digital Heritage to make our heritage more visible and anchor it in the region.

Projects

With various project presentations, we inform you about the developments in linked open data and participatory heritage projects in research and education at UM. During a panel discussion we explore future collaborations. These are:

1. Social Historical Center for Limburg: DRAPO Limburg flag and banner culture

2. University Library: Making Special Collections visible and findable in Wikidata

3. Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences: Creating digital collections

4. MACCH/Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences: Terra Mosana

The organization was established in collaboration with national, provincial and university partners (Netwerk Digital Heritage, Huis voor de Kunsten Limburg, Maastricht University Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Maastricht Center for Arts and Culture, Conservation and Heritage, Social Historical Center for Limburg, Limburg Museum and the University Library).
